Canadian artificial intelligence laboratory Cohere signed a letter of intent on Thursday to acquire AISLE, according to The Economic Times. AISLE is a San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup that uses artificial intelligence to identify software vulnerabilities. [1]

The acquisition will add cybersecurity tools to the broader business entity that Cohere is forming following its merger with German artificial intelligence firm Aleph Alpha, The Economic Times reported. That combined entity is reported to be worth approximately $20 billion. The transaction will also expand Cohere's presence in Europe by taking over AISLE's engineering hub located in Paris. [1]

The enterprise platform built by AISLE is designed to improve cybersecurity measures across both public and enterprise sectors by improving threat detection capabilities, according to The Economic Times. [1]

Cohere develops instruction-tuned neural networks including its Command family of models for text generation and retrieval-augmented generation, alongside its open-weight multilingual Aya series supporting over 100 languages. In 2025, the company introduced North, a turnkey platform featuring agentic capabilities and enterprise search functionality. [9]
