Consulting firm McKinsey and Company will ask select entry level candidates to conduct a ten minute conversation with an artificial intelligence simulation of a client, The Verge AI reported. The Wall Street Journal first reported the new interview procedure, which McKinsey is testing for undergraduate candidates seeking business analyst positions. [1]

The artificial intelligence tool aims to reflect 80 percent of the scenarios that McKinsey consultants encounter in their daily work, according to The Wall Street Journal cited by The Verge AI. The simulation is not designed to imitate an unhinged client. [1]

Human assessors will evaluate candidate performance during the process, The Verge AI reported. The artificial intelligence system will not score the applicants itself, as human evaluators will remain in the room to monitor how candidates navigate the simulated client interactions. [1]
