Apple announced on Tuesday that it will allow Siri AI to perform actions across all third-party applications. The Verge and The Verge AI both reported that the capability is rolling out to software developers as part of the iOS 27.3 Developer Preview. [1][5]
The new update allows the voice assistant to draw on a personal context of a user, process natural language prompts, and leverage on-screen awareness to carry out requests. The Verge AI and The Verge both noted that third-party developers can create a new feature called app skills, while Apple is also expanding Siri AI capabilities across native services including Calendar, Mail, Messages, and Music. [1][5]
Siri AI is a virtual assistant developed by Apple for devices running operating systems such as iOS 27. Apple released the stable version of iOS 27 on September 14, 2026. The software uses natural language interfaces and voice control to delegate requests to internet services and adapt to individual preferences over time. [7][8]
The news follows recent security restrictions by major United States financial institutions against automated tools, as FTMQ SI reported earlier. Banks including JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citigroup restricted third-party artificial intelligence agents from accessing customer accounts or performing automated fund transfers. [9][10]
