Alphabet Inc.'s Google DeepMind AI lab unveiled Genie 4 on October 27, 2026, Bloomberg and TipRanks reported. The new version of the artificial intelligence world model generates real-time virtual environments that allow users to explore generated worlds using keyboard controls. [1][2]

According to Bloomberg, the technology allows individuals to build explorable worlds directly from text prompts. Users can also modify active scenes while navigating them by typing commands, including adjustments to weather conditions or inserting new characters into the environment. [1]

TipRanks reported that Genie 4 generates interactive worlds complete with sound. Bloomberg noted that the advancement of this technology has rattled investors in video game companies. [1][2]

Google previously developed generative artificial intelligence systems under the Gemini brand, which originated as a virtual assistant chatbot known as Bard, according to Wikipedia. Gemini models rely on large language model architectures developed within Google. [3]
