Vercel has released durable-harness, an open-source package designed to keep coding agent sessions active through system crashes, timeouts, and redeployments. MarkTechPost reported that the software logs every model and tool call to preserve session progress across various environments. [1]

The durable-harness package wraps existing coding harnesses such as Pi, OpenCode, Claude Code, and Codex without requiring alterations to them. MarkTechPost reported that the software operates under an Apache-2.0 license and runs on Vercel, Postgres, or local laptops. [1]

The utility functions by providing adapters that store each agent session inside a Workflow SDK World, which combines storage and a queue. According to MarkTechPost, storing session histories in a durable log prevents work from being lost when a function terminates unexpectedly. [1]

Vercel is an American cloud application company known for creating and maintaining the Next.js web development framework. MarkTechPost noted that the new release helps development teams transition automated coding agents from local laptops to cloud environments. [1][3]
