Google announced on October 28, 2026, that it is expanding advertisements inside AI overviews to international markets for the first time. TechCrunch AI reported that the technology company is also introducing multi-turn advertisements and expanding AI mode in the United States. Philipp Schindler, chief business officer at Google, stated during an investor call that the company is scaling high-quality advertisements within AI overviews to additional users and queries. [1]

The expansion was disclosed alongside parent company Alphabet Inc.'s third-quarter earnings report. TechCrunch AI reported that Alphabet revenue grew 25 percent year over year to $127.6 billion. However, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google shares fell 10 percent as growth in search revenue slowed down. TechCrunch AI added that early results indicate click-through rates for sponsored product listings in AI mode are comparable to organic listings. [1][5]

Google operates a search engine that handles billions of queries daily, capturing approximately 90 percent of global searches and generating most of its revenue from data-driven advertising auctions. The company is an American multinational technology corporation focused on online advertising, search engine technology, and artificial intelligence. [8][9]

In related developments regarding Google Search content, Mashable and 9to5Google reported that public messages from Discord servers will become discoverable in Google Search. 9to5Google noted that these public messages will show up in search results unless users opt out. [3][4]
