Meta has revised its business terms to remove language that explicitly suggested it could freely train its artificial intelligence models on news websites, The Verge reported. The updated terms are scheduled to go into effect on October 30. [1]

Legal experts stated that the revisions do not fully resolve copyright concerns. James Grimmelmann, a professor of digital and information law at Cornell Law School, told Nieman Lab that the updated terms do nothing to restrict broad provisions that could allow Meta to scrape entire websites, according to The Verge. [1]

Meta AI is the research division of Meta that creates artificial intelligence and augmented reality systems. The division operates workspaces in locations including Menlo Park, London, New York City, Paris, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Tel Aviv, and Montreal. [2]

The updated terms of service for business accounts will take effect on October 30, as reported by The Verge. [1]
